  1. Was wondering if anyone had tried ordering taxis with apps like Uber or easy taxi in Bangkok. If so, is it worth the trouble? I had never considered it, but saw an ad for easy taxi while stuck in traffic today...
  2. Well, for those who may consider this hotel, the room (deluxe suite) is quite nice and big, very good value through the agoda booking! The location isn't bad either (about a 10-min walk to get to Sukhumvit\Asoke). BUT the bastards have a clause at the bottom of the registration form that clearly states that there is a "500 bath fee for companions"
  3. Will also be staying there as of tomorrow. Checked online and it is clearly listed as GF. Will post an update if that isn't the case! :P
  4. I doubt they'd care about that, but they actually searched you at a roadblock? Any particular reason? Luckily this had never happened to me yet... Where you from in Canada mate?
  5. I've tried a variety, including real cialis (cost a fortune from hospital), kamagra, fake Viagra and Cialis, as well as kamagra jelly and sidagra. The last 2 worked best for me and did not lead to nausea... That said, is the pharmacy next to bully's still the best place to buy these? On a different note, anyone know if these pharmacies still sell genuine Valium anymore or are these days long gone?
  6. Lol, and do they also cut your hair there? I've had my share of bad Asian haircuts so maybe a bj would help ease the stress. I know there are many such "barbershops" in Vietnam, but have never heard of any in Bangkok.
  7. There may be some small discount to be had, but it's not anywhere near the 30% mark and I doubt that it's truly "duty free" given the usually high prices. Depending on where you're arriving from, I find it's often a better bargain to bring in a bottle or two rather rather than buy it on arrival.
  8. Sounds interesting. Will probably give it a try during my next visit. Thanks for the reply!
  9. Anyone ever stay at http://www.housebythepond.com ? If so, how was it? They have really good monthly rates
  10. Never had any problems mailing packages from Thailand and all of them arrived, and pretty quickly too. Prices are also good! The only problem I've ever experienced is mailing postcards from the airport, go figure...
  11. I find Cambodia is a good flight option and prices can be pretty cheap if you book in advance. Granted you do need to buy a visa on arrival, but it's a short flight and if you stick around for at least a few days (or longer) it's definitely worthwhile!
  12. Kamagra jelly IS generic (from India if I'm not mistaken). If you're referring to generic Xanax (alprazolam), I assume it exists in Thailand but it must be pretty rare and I have never seen it. Both the real and the generic are easy to get and OTC in Cambodia however.
  13. Yeah, I had seen the same thing. Unless everything is included as seems to be the case on Agoda and Booking, it's a pretty crappy deal though. Extra for towels and aircon in a city like Bangkok is just pure silliness.
  14. Bought a box of 50 from the pharmacy next to Bully's pub for 1500 next to nana plaza. Time will tell if I got a good deal or if I got screwed. That's also assuming I make it past customs, perhaps I should try one out before taking that chance… ;)
  15. Yeah, I got that, thanks! I've brought some back from Cambodia already (the generic is unbelievably cheap there), but will investigate if I pass by again.Stocking up a bit as I won't by back for another 6 months :( BTW, the pharmacy directly across the street from NEP wanted 2500 baths for a box of a Kamagra Jelly and the one next to Bully's sells it for 'only' 1500. Quite a big difference. Bought the latter of course. Will try to follow-up on quality should anyone like to know!
  16. Oooh, Xanax would be an additional an unexpected perk! Thank you both for the advice :) BTW, I saw a guy at a stall near Nana personally wrapping a box of Kamagra jelly yesterday. Did not inspire much confidence.
  17. I hope this is in the right section, but can't find a better one (feel free to move this discussion). I am basically wanting to bring back a box of Kamagra Jelly, which I know some pharmacies carry or at least used to carry, and perhaps a few other articles that are not as easy to get in Canada. Like most sane person will NOT buy anything from the street. I've been to the pharmacy next to the gas station/on the entrance to ski Nana side several times. Usually the meds are fine (bought Valium in the past but that seems to have become a no-no), but I was curious as if other pharmacies came more highly recommended, as despite the next-door police station this one is a bit shady (unless selling beer is also a norm for pharmacists in Bangkok)... Thanks!
  18. Cheers for that! I ended up going with the Fenix, but I do agree that the Tune has better location for Soi Cowboy and will keep it in mind next time I'm in town.
  19. The soi is called RCA and it's in Ao Nang. The bar you're referring to is Amy's 69 :) still seems like the best bar and Easy to find (it's the first one on the right). Bf is 300.
  20. Although it'd kind of obvious, Suk 11 is NOT GF at all and it genuinely does SUCK in every sense of the term...
  21. I couldn't agree more. People will spontaneously write bad reviews when they're pissed, but are less likely to take the time to say how nice a place was. Excellent point about the "solo travelers" option!
  22. Anyone try the Tune Asoke? They have really good deal at the moment and are listed as GF on some sites, but I'm not entirely convinced.... Thnx!
  23. While not a typical destination, if you find yourself near Ao nang (15 mins from Railey), I can confirm that the Swiss Chalet is definitely GF :-)
  24. It's been a while, but I'll check out their meds. I'd be surprised unless they are well "connected" for lack of a better word. I know the pharmacy next to the gas station on Soi Nana used to sell everything, but the last couple of times they had stopped selling a few pills such as Valium. Still on the topic of meds (although not just pecker meds), for those of you who get around a bit: Valium, Xanax, Ativan as well as all the generic pecker meds are still 100% legal OTC in Cambodia. Valium is also available in Laos, although I just returned from there and it seems likely to change.
