I arrive on the night of May 3rd and will be staying at the Maxim Inn on Soi 7/1 until the 10th when I fly to Angeles City. Although I'll have some time to monger, I will be attending the Rotary International Convention out near the old Airport during the day on the 6-9th so won't be available until early evenings but still....PM me and we can meet up for a drink or two and perhaps hit a few places.

Fortune tower best place to go imo.

How about the new Terminal 21 near Asoke station?

It has recently opened and they have one floor dedicated to food for local office people, meaning

good taste and not expensive.

Terminal 21 is a very good place too eat plenty of different restaurants and pier 21 on the 5th floor.

We have a place in Ubon,not sure why you don't fly.

Have used a taxi,never bothered with bus or train.

By train you need to go to Hua Lampong.

By bus you need to go to Mochit

Used it a while ago,i travel light so no problem with luggage,my main gripe is the seats are very uncomfortable.

Other than that quick as i get the express to Makkasan then a short walk to the MRT.But as mentioned with some luggage stick to a taxi.

You can always head in to Robinsons,just go down the stairs to the food hall and buy some coupons can get a good meal in there for 30 baht.Also on the corner of soi 3 the shopping mall has a food hall just put some credit on one of the electronic cards at the booth.When you buy something they just swipe the card.Any money left over is refunded at the booth.The plus side of the food halls is its cheap,air con toilets near bye and no pollution from the traffic.

Down side is they close about 10pm.

I only travel with my laptop,let the tourist worry about the luggage.And it never seems to bother people who use the Heathrow Express or the Underground in London.Guess you just have to grin and bare it,unless you can shed so excess baggage,i always get my laptop bag to under 6kg.

I always go for Som tam Thai,never have Bangkok belly after.My Thai wife goes for Som tam balaa and often has crab added.I would say she has food poisoning at least twice a month.

Get a good bowl of noodle soup,for 30 baht.In the morning Jok for 25 baht,and Kow man gai 20/25 baht.

That's the latest April,but there again could be any time in the next 5 years.

I phoned the office of the train operator,the were very confused as to where i got the phone number from.

When i told them from their web site the reply was internet wrong.
