How much longer are you planning to stay? If you do a visa run via a land border crossing, you'll only get an extra 15 days unless of course you have an actual visa. If you fly into Thailand, than you'll get the 30 days.

If you get a tourist visa before you leave for Thailand, you'll get 60 days when you arrive. You can then extend that another 30 days for I think 1900 baht(could be wrong on the price). If you get a double entry visa, you can do the process twice.

Looks like it won't be April..at least not April 2010 :P However, there is still hope for 2011 :P

I booked SilQ on Suk 19 through Asia rooms.

They charged my American Express card.

When I checked out of the hotel I had to pay again.

The hotel said Asia rooms did not pay them.

Was this one of those prepaid deals? I never liked them and always stayed away from any prepaid rooms. I noticed in recent years there are a lot more of these prepaid rooms on these sites.

I can't say that I have. I'v only used asiatravel and asiarooms in the past. I had no problems with either one. I did just google that site and found some people give reviews of it on tripadvisor. The people there claimed to have had no problems. Let us know how it goes, if you decide to book with them.

The Ever Rich Inn isn't bad, but you might get some noise. If you have a room in the front, sometimes you hear what is going on outside at night. Especially, if the roaming guys with guitars decide to play there and get people to sing along. However, I only ever had that problem once.

How much are you looking to spend a night on a room?

It was good to meet you guys the other night. I had a great time. Hopefully, we can get even more guys to go out next time.

I'm just curious as to what book(s) everyone is using to learn the language. I'm pretty sure most will say the Benjawan Poomsan Becker's books. I use them as well and find them to be quite good. I just want to make sure I'm not missing out on a good book.

My Thai wife has told me the name of one wholesaler she remembered called (phonetical translation) "bow bay" but we can't find it.

I think your wife is referring to the Bobae Market. Its a large garment wholesale center in BKK.

the cheapest one is the queen room and the rate is 1200/ night.

They had a sign posted outside for that deal. I'm not sure, if they still have it or not. I would just call the hotel directly and ask them for a discount. I can't say for sure, but my guess would be its the middle rooms with no windows.
