Have a look Athenee. I'm a fan of the pool area

Consider the Westin. Intercon is nice but just seems isolated from the fun areas at night.

Also the Athenee is a favourite.

I really miss Climax. Found so many great punts there.

I personally prefer staying near asoke where you are close to both BTS and MRT, as well as Terminal 21. It's within walking distance from Thermae and soi cowboy. If you bf girls at nana, it's only a short cab ride away.

Asoke seems to be easier to get in/out of as well. Soi4 hotels can be a pain to get a car or taxi into.

A foot massage is really a misnomer, as they just just massage your feet. They do you legs and even end with a bit at the shoulders.

 

I think the best foot massage on earth is at Raintree on Soi 11 (almost directly across from Au Bon Pain)

 

350 baht...probably 100 baht more than the cheap places and well worth every baht.

The most direct way from Swampy to Asok there is no tolls, so if he says there is then he's taking you a long way around.  (Most direct way is the non toll freeway, connect onto Petchburi then down Asok.)  

Would you have this route? I've always paid tolls (2) even when I booked a car which included tolls.

The same app works around the world. Using my AUS app in Europe and USA as well.

BUT

Uber is hit and miss in BKK. Had some great rides but BKK drivers aren't great. I want to make an "asian drivers" joke but the average BKK driver as no idea.

Taxis in BKK are good & cheap as a rule. If you get a dickhead, just get another one.

They seem to have a HUGE marketing budget. Their ads appearing everywhere and seem to be endorsed by every ex-pat media writer.

It will be interesting in 12 months what to the business will be like....

I also find the pool cold after rain. So during the wet season, you might notice as well.

I tried uber in bkk and it was hit and miss. 

If you get a good driver, you are fine.

While I don't won't to make sterotypes, all the jokes about about asian drivers in BKK are true.
