Arriving April 19th.. staying for just over a week. Can't wait to be back.
-
I'm staying at Grand President. Got the 1 bedroom suite. I mainly needed a washer/dryer, so this worked out well. The room is decent. A typical BKK cheap hotel. The room is huge which is a plus but a little dated and worn out. Washing clothes as I type this. Lol

lol haircut with a bj??! lol never heard of that before. but hey, whatever floats your boat my friend. :)

Okay, we obviously have members ranging from Veterans to First time visitors of Bangkok! While we share common interests in the P4P scene, we all need ideas, Secrets, tips, and suggestions to spend our daytime hours.
So what are YOUR Top Ten Must Do's while Visiting Bangkok???? (Besides P4P)
Rules:
#1 Please be specific! Location, details, etc.. (so we can share in the experience).
#2. Please be respectful! Some members may include something in their Top10 list you may find silly or disagree with. Remember, that is thier tip, so please respect that.
#3 Post 1 original picture if you can... something to share besides words.. It is a Top Ten Must Do list, so I hope you can include at least one photograph.

Could it be certain bar owners are secretly pressing for "a crackdown" of FL's to help their own business?
It's not hard for a group of bar owners to bribe the police (already done from what I understand) for a crackdown to remove "competition"? I honestly think that money is the root of every political/governmental decision.
I am pretty ignorant as far as Thai politics go, but where I'm from, it's all about money. Just a thought.

Get a hotel. Cheaper and safer. I use airbnb in some countries. But in Bkk I would stay in a hotel.

I tend to just relax the first 12-24 hours. After 25 hour flight, I'm too exhausted to p4p upon arrival. Exhaustion leads to a weaker immune system. I want every advantage I got for the trip. If you don't stay healthy, it can ruin a few days

It's official! Arriving Oct 14 departing Oct 23. Most likely staying on Suk/Soi 11. 3rd trip.

I have changed my place of stay, I’m now going to stay at the Holiday Inn at Sukhumvit and Soi 22. I like this location better, 10 minute walk to Soi Cowboy, 5 minute walk to Soi 33, and easy 5 minute walk to BTS Phrum Phong and the massage places around it at Soi 24. Plus there are beer gardens and massage places behind the hotel on Soi 22.
George, you prefer Soi Cowboy over Nana?
Both are great, but I've heard Nana is slightly more newbie friendly. Looks like its your first time in Bangkok so just a thought.
I'll be there during the same time as you, but my third trip. It's gonna be a blast!

Good point Bob. You are right. But it's not too important to me since I have a few unlocked phones laying around. They sure do come in handy lol
-
AT&T refused to unlock any of my phone's that are still on contract. I sign 2 year contracts so my phones are discounted.
-
I've asked a few pharmacies about testosterone/anabolic steroids, but no luck. They say "go to hospital". lol
-
I would advise reading reviews on Agoda or any other hotel website that has reviews. I hope this helps a little. Good luck.
-
Those are amazing pictures. I enjoyed reading your trip report.

New date.. looking at Oct 15-25 Staying on Soi 11.

Likewise, I would have just paid the 1500 and chaulk it up as a lesson learned. It sucks being lied to or cheated, but best to not risk trouble with the police in Thailand or any foreign country. You have no protections so be smart.
-
I'm embarassed to say that I've been to BKK twice, NEP about 20 times and I've never walked to Soi11. lol
I'll check it out next time I'm there. :D
-
I'll definitely try this place out the next time I visit BKK. That burger would be perfect after a long haul flight eating airplane/airport food.
-
MK in Siam Paragon is one of my favorites in BKK. I love their roast duck/roast pork/ crispy pork plate. I enjoy the street foods/stalls, but I also enjoy the A/C inside the malls.
-
I'll be there 9-18 of nov. I'm a solo first timer and could definitely use come company! Let me know if you'd like to hang out.

Will take a solo first timer trip to BKK November 9-18!
I would love to meet and hang out. Please PM me if you'd like to. I'm staying for the first few days at Legacy Express on Sukhumvit Road. (The hotel that looks like a Tetris game).
I'm nervous and excited!

What to look for when deciding on a hotel in the area?

The biggest convenience is a washer/dryer in the room. The only place ive stayed at with this feature is Grand President on Soi 11. Would love to know of other affordable hotels with a washer/dryer.
