People are prone to only put up good reviews though. I take any negative review seriously.

I disagree. Most people are more likely to complain rather than compliment.

One tip is to filter the reviews by "Solo travelers" (not sure of the exact terminology) and the reviews are most likely by mongers.

I Just check out the ladies, look for a likely double act and conduct a proper interview making sure they understand what is required - ie two girls together, not one in bed and one hiding in the bathroom. All the better if they demonstrate a little girl on girl passion before clinching the deal. Last time the two girls almost snogged each others faces off before we left the bar, I love it when the girls show a bit of initiative in order to seal the deal.

 

Everyone has different requirements and differing ways of ensuring that they get what they want, the important thing is that everyone knows what is required before sealing the deal.

Apoteka on Soi 11 has some great blues, jazz, and folk oriented stuff.  Mostly blues.

I walked in there during a wander around the soi's one night and Snow Man (used to play at the Blues Factory in Pattaya) was playing. 

Not sure if it was a one off or a regular gig.

Sonic is out on Soi 63 (Ekamai).  Also, Titanium Club has all-girl band every night. I think that's on Soi 22.

I went there last month.

I was pissed but remember only 1 girl in the band. And they were an average band at best. 1 drink then check bin.

The place above is a good time. Definitely recommend it at least once. You get to hear Thai standards of the luk thung/molam variety.

 

For contemporary rock/indie stuff, you might want to check out Sonic.

I've been to the rock pub twice. Once was pretty good as far as rock cover bands go.

The second time was a speed/death metal night, which i might have enjoyed 15-20 years ago but not today :).

Also i had a barfine with me from the checkinn, who said, and i quote "I feared for my life in there!!". She had never seen a mosh pit or slam dancing before. I tried to convince her they  were harmless but i don't think she believed me.

If I were to book a room for one person in a GF-friendly hotel, can I still bring a girl back to my room? Or will they charge me?

If you book online just click "2 persons". It doesn't have to be the same 2nd person every night.

If you do get a chance, try and catch one of the ladyboy comedy movie series in Thailand. On the one hand, you;ll get to see what ageing, ugly LBs look like, but on the other hand, seeing how the audience turn up for the show and laughs along with the gags gives me the impression that they are well integrated into society as whole, outside of the sex industry.

I have seen Ladyboys working in hairdressers and beauty salons in Pattaya.

Seems like common sense, one thing they are definitely better at than the girls is makeup :)

I'll just miss you. I'm in Bangkok 27 July till 2 August then moving on to Hua Hin.

Yes there are blinds for the glass wall and I kept them closed as I had the same thought. Yes it does not look far and I never had a problem with it but think some of the girls might start whinning. I would put it between 5 and 10 minutes depending on how fast you walk I never really timed it so not sure but probably closer to ten. I would stay again as I usually do some walking anyway. I stopped with my girl about halfway each night and got something to eat in the resturant across the street from the Heaven@4 hotel so there was a break in the walk.

On my last trip on my way back to BKK for my last couple of days before leaving I booked this hotel as I had heard some good things about it and wanted to try something different. I booked it through agoda the day before needing it and got what I thought was a good price. I booked three nights for $136.98 USD. I had a deluxe room.

I liked everthing about this hotel except for the location was just a little to far from Nana for a high heeled girl to walk it but it can be done. I did not do enough checking on the tuk tuk but this maybe a viable option if you turn in early as I think it discontinues at about midnight. I did walk a girl back on two nights from Nana and had no problems with complaints from the girl but she didn't wear ridiculously high heels either so that helped. I thought it was to close for a taxi or motocy taxi as well but you could do it. That all being said I will probably stay there again on my way in or out again if the price is right since everything else was worth it. How long is the walk to Nana Plaza? it doesn't look far on google maps.

Is there a blind/curtain for the glass wall?? Sure watching a woman shower etc will be cool, but her watching me take a dump in the morning after a night drinking

I was looking for a new place to lay my head next month, this looks and sounds like the place for me. In a good position soi 10 options left right and forward for drinking once i get on to Suk,

 

Raistx, mate have stayed at the boss a few times ,sounds like they are botha bit of a walk on there soi,s, but Boss is on 4 so not to far to get some action, last time i was there the bathroom was stinking a little, no big deal, but waking up with a bad head and smelling thatevery morning put me of a bit.

PROS:

Great Hotel, Trendy as Hell, Amazing customer service, "GUEST FRIENDLY" with no issues or drama. Nice little Bar and restaurant on the first floor.

 

The rooms are great. Really nice bathrooms, big spacious rain style showers with glass walls(With room for 2+ :D ). Free wifi for guests. The hotel has no issue with check-in 24 hours. Staff on hand and friendly 24/7. Comfortable feeling of security, (Room card needed to use elevator)!

 

The hotel has a great rooftop restaurant/bar/pool area (Leapfrog). These places are not only beautiful and relaxed but treat you with a level of service as close to any of the "finer" dining establishments that I visited in BKK.

 

Cons:

The rooms are just a touch on the small side. This was not much of an issue for me b/c I was basically there to sleep and shower but thought I would pass along.

 

The hotel itself is a short walk from Sukhumvit so you are not right in the middle of the chaos. In regards to this, the hotel will shuttle you from its locale to Sukhumvit as a courtesy but you are trucking it back on your own. There is a nice Garden area between the hotel and Sukhumvit that is beautiful.

 

I loved this hotel and will surely stay here again.

I had decided on a Suite room at Boss Suites for 2500 a night including breakfast. I stay in under 1500 baht rooms in Pattaya but have decided to spend a bit more for my time in Bangkok.

I've emailed The Ramada Encore and they have replied with Deck room with Balcony ( Deluxe room, 30 square meters) : THB 2,600 net / room / night include Breakfast.

Which one do you guys think would be better for location, cleanliness, friendly staff etc.

If you you have any other recommendations, the main thing that is a must is reasonably clean, a balcony and a pool (doesn't have to be a good/big pool, just somewhere to cool off).

Your thoughts??
