  1. Without an outbound flight, not necessarily a return ticket, the airline will deny boarding. Immi has the data and also enters such data at land borders.

If you are over 90 days within 6 months, you are likely to run into trouble.

If you have too many short-term stays, extensions or border runs things will get complicated.

A few weeks back home and a long-distance flight will wash the record clean aside from the overall days limit.

Better and more complete info can be obtained on the aseannow forum.

I liked them when visiting Canada in the 2000s. Affordable coffee and likewise croissants. In the US croissants were not so common in the places I visited.

Looking at their pricing in Bangkok, I find them overpriced. I prefer a coffee in a nice mug and a good croissant and all of that a bit cheaper than at TH. Enough local Thai places (not chains) that offer better value and the cash goes to the little guys.

  3. I once took the third class train to BKK from KK. It is a late evening departure, third class. I was on time in BKK and it was an interesting trip. No sleep, cool breeze through the windows and a crowd that went to work in the big city. Most left north of the city and the train was pretty empty once it reached the old main station. It was memorable but one trip is enough. Very cheap of course.

There are more fancy trains leaving from the new station near Morchit. That's an entirely different setup.
