  1. A note to anyone planning on being in Bangkok in November:

The government has declared Nov 16-18 special public holidays in Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan to ease traffic during the summit and facilitate security protection for the Apec guests.

I believe the summit will be around the Asoke area. I expect there'll be heavy security, road closures, possible protests, etc.

Looks like even Putin will be showing up..  https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-10-12/putin-to-attend-apec-summit-in-thailand-bangkok-post-reports

That together with the public holiday will put a damper on mongering activities in the area....

How are the clubs lately?  I'm assuming nightlife is back up to 100%.

Nightlife in tourist areas still feels quite low compared to pre-covid times. I'm not much of a clubber these days but stuck my head in a few (Mixx, etc.) and wasn't too impressed. Things are better than last year but not back to 100%.

RCA had a better party vibe but don't expect much interest unless you're young and Thai/Korean/Japanese.
