Guys, the google machine actually says the holiday falls on on Sat 2-24 but public observation is on Mon 2-26.  Is that correct?

And if so, I assume the bars would then only be closed on Mon, 2-26?

the above site lists both the Saturday and Monday as alcohol free days.

the below site lists just the Saturday as alcohol free

I hope that cleared things up… I would think definitely the Saturday but I don’t think the Monday as well

  2. Yeah, some people buy alcohol the day before.  Online as in escorts? All still going.  Even some still in the street but numbers are way way down.

Just a note thought if the actual day is on a Saturday the bar you are in might hit the lights at 11:59 on the Friday and close.  Ask in the bars the day before or on the Friday so you aren’t caught out with no lady if that’s your plan.  This is not always the case and is dependent on what the police tell them.

Looking to book one of the corner rooms for January, do all of these rooms face towards the Marriott side, or do any face the tall building which Is above the Kasikorn bank.

I would hate to book the above room expecting a great view of BKK only to find a massive tower block messing the view up.

I did book the corner room back In January, but it was unavailable and was upgraded to the suite.

No they don’t all face the Marriott.  I used to stay in the Landmark years ago on business trips, always in the high floor corner rooms.  Most of the time it was over looking nana plaza but once it was the other side of the building, I guess you could say facing soi 6.

there is a commercial building right in from of you if you stay on that side.  It’s not the worst thing in the world and I don’t remember it being super super close to your window but definitely ask for the soi 4/Marriott facing side if you can swing it.

  4. James Hunt the guys that writes it posted a year or so ago in an old blog of his:

"For the past 3 months I've been back in Bangkok after a year long spent entirely in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, working on a new business venture."

That was around May 2018 he only did a few more posts after that then nothing all this year.

  5. I stayed at the Pullman when it had another name. It's a good hotel.

One thing to note is there is an enternace on the Soi 23 side, you can walk down to Soi Cowboy and enter the bacarra end. And walking into the hotel more discreetly bypassing the front desk on the way home. There was just a small sercuity desk sometimes manned when I was there.

Isn't there also a new superduppa 'hi-so' club at the Pullman? I guess no freelancers because I've never seen it mentioned here at all, link below:
