Planning to visit Hat Yai in August! Which hotel do you recommend? Any insightful information

Although some may think of it as crazy to train when in Bangkok, I do enjoy a little fitness work out when I visit.

However, the problem is that unless you are prepared to buy a club membership for places like WOW California, it is hard to find some decent gyms open on a pay as you go basis. I checked out the one in Siam Paragon which is cool (except the showers and dress room where a lot gays walk around)but I decided not to join. Does anyone have any advice of where to access a reasonably equipped gym in Bangkok when visiting for a week or so?

To all the tourists and expats looking for a reasonable priced gym with a swimming pool is in Lumpini Park! The annual gym membership is only 150 bhat but you must comply with their strict dress code!

Which pharmacies in Bangkok, can I purchase Andriol 40mg capsules or equivalent? One capsule 40mg/a day works for me thus I don't want injections, patches or jells!

There are two that were recommended to me.

 

The Thai Travel Clinic at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University http://www.thaitravelclinic.com/cost.html is good and vaccines much cheaper than in western countries. They will also advise and discuss with you what is useful for Thailand or other countries you are visiting. The prices are shown on the website at the link, where the prices are per shot so for rabies you will need multiple shots. Jap Enc is given routinely to Thai children and in Thailand they often recommend it for visitors. Its listed under "JE" in the price list.

 

 

There is also one run by the Red Cross http://www.saovabha.com/en/clinictravel.asp I have not used it but others recommend it.

 

I've used Red Cross Clinic directly front of Snake Farm many times. Their vaccination prices are very cheap and reasonable

compared to other clinics or hospitals!
