I heard my friend recomend the hotel called Milennium Hilton Bangkok located near ChaoPraya river also it is near ICON siam (newest department store in Bangkok). Inside they have gym and spa, and smoking area.
Nice hotel but a long commute (About an hour with BTS) to Nana.
-
Why is it called “Sky”? The building only seems to have 5 floors?
-
Have a look at Dynasty Grand. It’s located on Suk Soi 6 close to Nana. They have balcony rooms at 1600 baht/night.

Stayed there many times, probably my favorite hotel (considering the price). Great location. Guest friendly. Lovely little roof top pool with a nice view. Clean and nice rooms, good size. Many international channels. I got usually some vouchers for drinks and even a daycard for the BTS. All this for 50-60 US-dollar. Think it´s hard to beat.

Just ask the questions right here, I'm sure there are more of us the likes to hear the answers.

Thanks for the TV-update hkaus! The TV is important for me when in bed with a hangover and trying to figuring out what a did last night.

Thanks, that sounds real good! I´ve been looking at Radisson for a while as it ticks all my boxes: Good location close to Cowboy and Asok. Good value 90-100$. Big pool.
Will try it next time!

Thanks for the review. Some questions:
- How is the pool and is there sun in the afternoon (common problem in many Bangkok hotel pools)?
- International/english speaking channels on the tv?
- Guest friendly?

Or you can take the train straight to the airport.

Bangkok is probably the most safe city that I've been to.
EXCEPT one thing. The traffic in Thailand and Bangkok is one of the worst in the world. You won't ribbed but you might get killed by a car, that's Bangkok.
-
Stay a night, rent a bike and go to Erewan falls and/or Hellfire pass. A very nice way spend a day.
-
Take the train and stay overnight in Kanchanaburi.
-
It doesn´t really matter. Save some time and go to Bang Sue or take the train from Hua Lamphong with all its charm, the choice is yours.
No idea the what the different prices mean, maybe the bottom includes a meal?
-
Yes you can change from MRT to train at Bang Sue (you can take the MRT to Hualamphong aswell).
You mean how long time it takes to Bang Sue with the MRT? According to Google Maps a trip with MRT from Phechaburi to Bang Sue is 25-30 mins.
-
We took the train back to Bangkok again, don´t really know the benefits of taking a van one way. Maybe saves you some time?
One option is to get on and off the train at Ban Sue and connect to the MRT which saves you some time since the trains slow down when they enter Bangkok. I really like everything about Hualamphong station and riding the the slow train through the Old Town, but thats just me.
-
I went a couple of years ago. Took the 3-class train from and to Hualampong which went once every hour or so. Took about 1,5-2 hours done way and was a real nice and local experience. I bought the tickets at the station the same day, no need to pre-buy.
We hired a tuktuk for 300 baht/hour but renting a bike is probably more fun if not to hot or rainy.
Here is the timetable: http://www.railway.co.th/checktime/checktime.asp?lenguage=Eng

i also don't have many memories, probably the only way to end up there. :)
unfortunately i don't know exactly where it was. taxi driver took me there. according to my google maps history, it was somewhere close to here: https://goo.gl/maps/wzFUKmDQwBo , maybe that helps.
Ok thanks for info! Will check it out!
