Don't buy counterfeit Doc Martens.  The point of Doc Martens is the quality is good, and they last a long time. 

Go to their Bangkok locations.

Any food court in a the many shopping malls are good and you dont need to sit in the street to eat street style food. Most street markets do have lots of food stalls some with seating areas also.

This is terrible advice.  Don't eat in the friggin' mall, man!  Sure, it may be "pretty good", but you should find the GREAT spots.   You want to sit in the street and eat!

Any 2016 updates to this?  Having just hit Chiang Mai, I know it's a world of difference, but my mouth is watering just thinking about it.  

Not much chatter on Patpong.  That's where SOL is, though?  Hmm, I need to do more research.  :D 

Honestly, from what I read, and have experience elsewhere, I would try and scratch together the extra 1,500.  There has to be a way...if not, you're on thin ice as it is, as that's not much money!  Ha.  It'll be a much more memorable experience...especially for your first time!

Keep in mind any counterfeit things you purchase very well may fall apart within days or weeks of purchase.  Doesn't even seem worth it to me.

I think I'm going to go with Dynasty Grand.  Super good rate on the website itself, with an option to pick the smoking room.  Seems like an option people like, too.

Great!  Thanks for the intel.  I'll look into it.  I think anywhere on Suk. will be good as I'm not planning more than a few Gogo runs.   Mostly MP and BJ shops.  In and out on premises.

Hey all,

Newbie to BKK trying to firm out an incoming booking for October.

I just realized (thankfully beforehand) that many of these hotels seem to not allow smoking.  Going off what Expedia tells me.

Surely a 4 or 5 star hotel there would be an option to choose, yes?

Am I wrong?  Is Bangkok heavy on no smoking laws?

Any advice would be great.  I am leaning more toward MP's and BJ bars, but will make a few trips to Cowboy or Nana, so I'm trying to find a spot in the middle of it all.
