  1. I liked Chiang Mai.  Loi Kroh is a small scene but I found a fun bar there and had a good time.  Very affordable - I think I paid 300bht bar fine and 1000ST.   Been a couple of years though.

There's tons of sightseeing options.  I took a three day/two night private (just my buddy and me) van tour up to Chiang Rai, taking in lots of fun like rafting, elephant park, tiger park, Chiang Rai temples, etc.  No chance to monger on that portion of the itinerary, but it was a lot of fun.

  2. I'd love to hear about Yangon.  It's on my non-monger travel list anyway but I'm optimistic there would be some willing young women there.

  3. Having never visited Hua Hin I am interested in this topic because I have previously wondered what a 3 or 4 day side trip from BKK would be like. What I gather is that there are small bars and poontang of limited quality, 5* to 6* at  best, is available. I also read somewhere, probably on a different thread, that there is a soapy in Hua Hin called Lee Lao Dee as well.

My question is HOW IS THE BEACH? I assume it is better than polluted Pattaya, but not as clean as the beaches on Ko Chang or further south. Are my assumptions correct?

I have visited Ko Chang. It is a lovely island about 3 hours east from Pattaya. The water is very clean and the beaches are beautiful. Unfortunately, Ko Chang nightlife is scant. There are only a handful of small rustic beer bars with low quality older girls and 1 club on the island. Thus Ko Chang is a BYO girl kind of place in my opinion.

Koh Samui might be a good compromise for you.  The scene is pretty good in my opinion although it's mostly beer bars and I believe 1 (?) gogo.  Beaches and water sports are good and you're within easy day trip distance to the marine park.  I would definitely go back there.

  4. canucklhead - good luck with your trip.  Let us know how you get on.

I second this.  I like to read trip reports for the less common destinations.  All you have to do is find one girl that's right for you and the trip can be amazing.

  5. I've never been, but from what I recall reading elsewhere there's a very modest scene amidst some of the smaller streets near the Hilton resort.  Like Bintabaht.

    Bring your own if possible.

  6. Has anyone stayed at Nai Na resort in Patong beach?

Or do you know what the score is concerning taking girls back there.

It's not listed on any of the Girl friendly hotel sites, and I was wondering if they'd let the girls back

at all. I don't mind paying a bit extra, though I have already paid for a large double room.

If you don't get an answer here go to the hotel website and look for a way to email them.  I've done this before and the hotel owners have always been prompt and gracious in their replies.  If they're in Paton they know the story.

  7. On my trip to bangkok last May, took the wife to see Safari World. It was her 5th trip to Thailand (my 50th) and she claims the best. She got up close and friendly with the giraffes and then got an elephant ride after the elephant show was over with and crowds dissipated. She even did a circus performer pose in the elephant's trunk while it stood on its hind legs. Truly unforgettable experience for her.

There used to be orangutan and lion cub close-up photo opportunities, but didn't seem available any longer.

Madame Tussaud's has a few different displays, but overall the same as the one in Vegas.

I read "She even did a circus performer...." and thought wow, this is going in an unexpected direction.

  8. Was there a year ago for one week and had a blast.  I agree that Lamai has plenty going on for a short stay, but I wish I'd gotten to Chaweng more.  I was there with a buddy.  We didn't go out every night but when we did Lamai was plenty of fun.  Good bar, restaurants...  Took a day trip to the marine park and another trip for diving.  Good times.
