I agree.Very good and secret hotel if you want to go for a short time.
Thats how the hotel makes the money. Dont worry. I take triples girls there, and I never have an extra charge.

2 months ago I was staying at ALT in the Jr suite. I never ask if the room was a smoking room or not, but we smoked a lot in the room and the staff didn´t complain about it.
In Bkk and Pattaya I actually always smoke in my hotel room and I never ask before if it´s ok or not. Never ever have any problem with this.
Is not an advice how to do - just fact from my experience from middle class hotel.
-
Yes ALT is guest friendly for 100% sure.

I coming to Bkk 14 of august. No hotel booked yet, but will stay at soi 4. I will stay for 10 days.
Day time drinkers at Hillarys bars.
-
I stayed in the Junior suite at 23:th floor at Grand President. Very quiet room. Good value for the money. Ambassdor is a cheaper options but quiet room and near to massage and bars.
-
Yes is guest friendly. I´ve been staying there a few times. Big room with balcony, ok for the price but the pool have been so dirty everytime I been there so I have walk over the street and use Woraburis pool.
If you want a nice pool take a look at Dynaste Grande. Cost little bit more, but closer to the action and a nicer room.

I plan to hit the town around 20 april. I will stay near soi 4 for about 10 days then I will move to Pattaya.
I´m 45 and like daytime action :)

Some members with experince from Lohas Suite on soi 4/2
http://www.bangkok.com/lohas-suites-sukhumvit/
I look at this hotel/apartment for a few times, but always ended up in Dynasty Grande, soi 6. Is the same price level, but Lohas looks nicer actually from their homepage.

I stay at the Grand President, in the junior suite at 23th floor. The view was fantastic, but the room very old style. The breakfast was terrible and also the the food I eat for dinner. For that money I can find a better room near soi 4.

Last trip I stay at the Ivory Suvarnabhumi.

Not fancy, but great value for money. I paid 1,000B and it´s just 10 min from the airport.I use it for short time room just before my flight, but have no problem to stay there all night next trip.
Some cheap resturangs in the area and a massage place on the same street. Neg is no swimmingpool.
