  1. Greetings all. I'm returning to the LOS for three weeks 23/10-13/11. I'll be staying off Soi 18 and making the usual rounds. Bar 4 some evenings for starters. Nana and Cowboy to enjoy the sights and companionship. I always enjoy exploring the different Soi's and finding new clubs and pubs or revisiting old favorites. I'll also be making a couple overnighters to Patts. Feel free to PM me to meet up for beverages, wingman duties or random mongering.

  2. 3th time Bangkok. Arriving 31th March in the afternoon, staying near Soi Cowboy area. Planning to leave on the 2nd of April on my way to Patts. All over a bar crawl on Sat night (31th). 30year old from Amsterdam.

Fyrfly89, have you decided on venue and time yet?

Well, I haven't gotten any commitment from anyone else although several members think it's a good idea. Cattoc has said that he would be serving up the Heinekin from from 9 to 10 at his pub this evening (03/31). Stopped in last night for a frosty beverage and really enjoyed the place. CheckInn99 on Sukhumvit between Soi 5 and 7 accross from Landmark hotel. This sounds like a reasonable place and time to meet up. Then can walk across to Nana or cab up to Cowboy.

Laaeo Dtaae Khun (up to you)

  3. Sounds like there's gonna be quite a few folks in town this weekend. (29-1st) Maybe we should organize some kind of bar meet/pub crawl?

All meet up Friday or Saturday night, maybe around 9, somewhere like Spanky's, Las Vegas in Nana or Baccara, Dollhouse in Cowboy. One bar, one drink then move on to the next place. If it's really happening somewhere stay for two.

Have done these a few times in the past and they've turned into quite an adventure. Made some lifelong friends this way as well.

  4. I'm a very big fan of Bourbon St. I used to stay at the hotel for the first few years of my trips to BKK. I've since found other accommodations but still visit the restaurant regularly.

The owner is a great guy, very friendly and very helpful and the staff (both hotel and restaurant) were always very warm and caring.

I really enjoy the food there, especially the breakfast. LOL.

  5. Very kewl meeting everyone the other evening. Jake you rock, thanks for putting the event together. Rowyco hung till the bitter end and still looked chipper for lunch the next day. Way to go! Never did find out what happened to the guy at Nana Liquid. What a night! I'm proud and embarrassed to admit the sun was coming up as my dance partner and I took our taxi back to the hotel. Definately a night to remember!

  6. Greetings all!

I will be flying in April 1st for my annual pilgrimage to the LOS. I will be a week in BKK. Sukhumvit, Soi 22, Soi 8, Cowboy and Nana. The usual haunts. Then over to Phuket for two weeks of Songkran at the beach. Finally back to BKK for the last week. Might try to get a few days down in Hua Hin, but...

So what's everyone else gonna be doing?

  7. I too love Suk Rd. My "hood" is Soi 22 and Washington Square. Doug Harrison and The Bourbon Street Inn, Denny's corner beer bar, The Dubliner Irish Pub. Everything within walking distance of Cowboy, Soi 33, Soi 8, and Nana. Skytrain station to the rest of the city. Sukhumvit is my home away from home.

  8. I am very much looking forward to this commuter train finally being open. It's usually not much of a hassle taking a taxi except for traffic during the day. My only question is how much difficulty would one have dealing with luggage? I could see this train being a fantastic thing for runs to the airport during the day with carry-on luggage, but what about the tourist flying in for a month or more with heavy luggage?

  9. For some reason it seems I ALWAYS arrive in BKK from FLA at midnight. I generally get checked in and settled then go out and party for a few hours. Sleep late the next morning, then make my rounds getting back in touch with people and places. Seems I'm over any jetlag almost overnight.

On the other hand, when I return to the states it seems to take me days and days to recover. Maybe It's not the jetlag, just having a harad time getting over leaving the LOS again. LOL
