DeanO Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Wanting to be better prepared next time and more involved is there a good on-line site to pick up some of the basics? What ever I learned is gone already. I had a pretty good teacher while there, although she wanted to me to help her with her English as well, We still talk on the phone regularly but the conversation is pretty limited, to say the least. Thanks
rowy Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Here is one for you to check out: http://www.thai-language.com/
house516 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I have the Pimsleur Thai course. It's 30 - 1/2 hour lessons. Just listen and repeat. It's a great starting point. Pretty sure we know each other, contact me on FB.
DeanO Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 Ok, thanks for both. I will message you and find out.
Pattayabobb Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Here is one for you to check out: http://www.thai-language.com/Thank you for that. Exactly what I was looking for
pearlofSr Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 one thing for sure.. you do not have past tense, present tense, future, singular, plural.. the simplest language on earth..
franky Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 one thing for sure.. you do not have past tense, present tense, future, singular, plural.. the simplest language on earth.. yes but the sound hard to understand , they speak so fast
johnnyrockstar Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I found this site useful for the basics. http://www.knowphuket.com/thai_language/main.htm A good to for practicing before you go would be to jump on one of the dating sites and try out your Thai with the girls there. They love that stuff
willow Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 yes but the sound hard to understand , they speak so fast Thais say we speak English too fast for them to understand. I have found most Thais very willing to help you if you say to want to learn. They do not have tenses as in English you are expected to understand from the context. The do have words for future (I will go - ja bai), before (goohn) and already (laeho). While I know many Thai words so I can ask for things I find difficult to make Thai sentences in the correct way.
Baanguru Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 There are so many online sources you can check out just type in learn thai language and google for sure will pull out great sources to learn the language. Thai language is difficult to learn so make sure to start with the basics and you're good.
BigAfarang Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Using innovative language Thai right now. I like it. Pimsleur is great too.
