November 27, 2025Nov 27 Do hotel rooms in Bangkok still have Ethernet port or is wifi the only available data connection? Am thinking of bringing a travel router to better connect multiple devices.

If you want a more reliable connection, buy a tourist contract and add a data package. The mobile internet will be much better than any hotel Internet

I can often get a room with the router in the unit to hardline my dock into for externals
November 27, 2025Nov 27 A travel router like the GL-iNet Opal will connect to your hotel’s WiFi and create a private WiFi (and Ethernet) subnet for your devices. No need for a hotel Ethernet connection. $40 in the U.S. In my experience, if the hotel’s wifi sucks, the hardwired connection will also suck. YMMV https://store-us.gl-inet.com/products/united-states-opal-gl-sft1200-gigabit-wireless-router-dual-band-openwrt-ipv6-tor
