Do hotel rooms in Bangkok still have Ethernet port or is wifi the only available data connection? Am thinking of bringing a travel router to better connect multiple devices.

I never saw an Ethernet port in a room. Probably my hotels are not classy enough. Don't count on WiFi either. If you want a more reliable connection, buy a tourist contract and add a data package. The mobile internet will be much better than any hotel Internet

This is why i generally book AirBnB.  I can often get a room with the router in the unit to hardline my dock into for externals

A travel router like the GL-iNet Opal will connect to your hotel’s WiFi and create a private WiFi (and Ethernet) subnet for your devices. No need for a hotel Ethernet connection. $40 in the U.S.

In my experience, if the hotel’s wifi sucks, the hardwired connection will also suck. YMMV
