Line Messaging Hlep

Hello,

I got the line app working but it seems like I can not send first messages to anyone.. I have tried to send about 10 messages to people and they have to add me in order for us to message... if I add their line ID and message them.. they never receive the message.

Troubleshooting this app is hard to find resources on it. I made sure everything was set up with email verified etc etc... but maybe I missed something..

Anyone have any advice?

They're refusing to read your messages and they are blocking you. 

Find a person with Line, and sit down with them, and add via ID (not QR) and send a message to them.

They'll get it but they can delete it, and not add you and also block you.

@ricktorontoNo I did a test with someone I was messaging on Instagram, they gave me their ID and I messaged them. They never received it and then they added my ID and we were able to communicate.

Odd experience. I get an ID and add friend by search on ID then I  send a message and they reply and up to that point they don't know me from Adam. 

Are you getting the ID and adding as friend on your side then when you see their page pressing chat? That is the sequence of events. 

I've never tried but I don't think you can DM to the ID. 

Home page press the outline of a person with + symbol, next page click 🔎 search, next page by Line ID. When found press the button on the results page and it will go to a page to chat and add as friend. 

Then chat. 

The display name will usually be unrelated to their TF profile name. On their friend page click edit ✏️ and add the TF ID. They won't see your edit. 

Finally ensure your display name is not your Line ID. So if your ID is Joebloggs123 make your display name Joe from Kokomo. Nobody who sees your Line page should know your Line ID.
