pattaya.fan
Hi Everybody, Last time I worked myself through the fifteen free lessons of survival phrases: http://survivalphrases.com/thai/guest.php - This is just an audio course telling the absolute basic phrases, like: Hi - Thank you - Sorry .... At the end of the day it does not help at all - anything you realley need to ask, you will use english or hand signs. Of course you are also not able to read even the most basic message. So I decided that for my ext trip I would try to pick up a bit of basic Thai. I would like to learn to read, write and speak at a advanced beginner level (A2/B1 EU-Comptence level). If seen some solutions on the web, but I'm not sure what is good. There are a few smaller Offers and a few big ones like rosetta stone (at a big price also). Has anyone experience with any of the offers and can give me some advice?

nightwatch1
I have a ten lesson Pimsleur course on basic thai but have not really tried it out yet. I can't remember where I got it but it was ebay or half.com I think. I also picked up a handy book from a friend called Instant Thai which is a nightlife phrasebook ISBN#978-611-90002-0-9 published by Full Moon Books. The book can be bought in BKK easy enough but not sure if you can get it overseas. It lays out words and phrases you are likely to use with the bar girls and it shows you the way regular thais will pronounce it.
