Woody Woodpecker
The street that never sleeps, let's take a leisurely Sunday afternoon stroll. Most of these photos were taken yesterday, but I've included some food photos and others taken previously. Many of the establishments that gave the Soi it's unique character are gone (Cheap Charlies Bar, Bed Supperclub, Q Bar, Federal Hotel), but there's still plenty to see and do. There's a hostel at the base of the Soi, where you can stay in a communal room cheap. I've never stayed there, or anywhere else on the Soi for that matter, but I checked out the rooftop bar that serves 'Happy Pizza'. Kinneree Coffee shop in the Grand Busiess Inn is open 24 hours, as are several of the eateries on the Soi, to accommodate the clubs that are open until dawn. Let's continue walking north. This live music bar is under my years. It looks like Finch at the Narray alley is currently undergoing some restoration. Zanzibar also has live music later, more conducive to my age group. There used to be many massage shops offering happy endings in this passageway, until the Ambassador Hotel wouldn't renew their leases and now the space is occupied by several Indian restaurants. The food is probably good, but I refuse to patronize them out of respect for all the wonderful massages I've had there over the years. Burger King and Taco Bell are both open 24 hours. I'm a frequent diner at Wine Connection. Doesn't this fettuccine with scallops look tasty? Unfortunately, they've discontinued the lunch special that included salad and soft drink. This is Arroi 11, used to be Au Bon Pain Climax Disco, operated by the Hillary group, in the basement of the Ambassador Parking lot, doesn't get started until around midnight. I recommend the Old German Beer House for food and drink. Love the smoked beef sausage A Jägermeister during happy hour. I'd like Hemmingway's much better if they followed the German Beer House and didn't automatically add tax and service to the check. Lamb and Pumpkin Ravioli, respectively. There's a small lane between Hemmingway's and German Beer House that leads to Limoncello Pizza Continuing on, I've never been in Mullis Molino is a fairly new Mexican place, if you want something better than Taco Bell. Next to it, is an alley to Breakfast Story, great (although fairly expensive) place for breakfast. El Gaucho is my "go to" place for steak Hillary 3, live music starts at about 8:30 I considered signing a one-year lease at the Hyde 11 I was also considering The Prime 11 Condo I've never been in Oskar, not a big fan of dress codes. I go to Chez LN when I want Quiche Looks like Aloft currently undergoing renovations Paradise Beach Bar been open a couple months. God place to have a beer and people watch, and they serve food too. Time to have a seat and enjoy a cold one. Ready for a Quickie? Never tried this place. The alleyway to Armster. I've never tried any of these places hidden away, not even Lusty Lady Bar I did try the pasta at Cantina Hillary 11 aslo has live music in the evenings. Artisan Craft Burger Bang Bang Burger nearby has a boxing motif, and a better selection of craft beers, but they serve fries with their burger which I don't want. We're at 'The T' now atop the Soi, The Coffee Club here is open 24 hours. I haven't been in Moon Restaurant since it was Chilli Culture Turn right and you can get to Soi 13. A left turn takes you to Big B's This is what's left of Insanity Nightclub, they were shut down by the authorities a few years ago for covid violations. Golden Giraffe is another live music venue. They featured jazz when I visited, don't know if his is the regular feature. I did most of my grocery shopping at Villa Market when it was near the Ambassador but now Foodland on Soi 5 is closer for me. At the site of the defunct Q Bar, the next left takes you to Soi Nana. Hope you enjoyed our jaunt up Soi 11. The street comes alive after dark.
Primusthai
This brings back memories from my last trip. I hardly had to leave the soi. You covered most of it but there is some night clubs and massage shops that you missed.
ricktoronto
This was my favorite Soi until they closed the Presidents Palace and the Australian steak and burger restaurant. Presidents Palace club floor was the best deal in Bangkok.

Unbelievable... from the photo it seems that in Bangkok they know how to make Neapolitan pizza better than in some Italian pizzerias.

JVHyatt
Was sad to see that Finch closed when I was about last week. Couldnt tell whether the guy out front said renovations were for a new bar or for Finch. Doubt for Finch since it was fairly new. had a bit of a weird layout I will admit.

Finch was empty every single time I walked by. I was in BKK 4 times in the last 18 months. Almost empty. every. single. time. Not surprised.
