Hi fellas

So far I've been only in July and November, direct flights from Zurich to BKK would usually range between 800 and 1200 CHF (850 EUR to 1250 EUR), I wanted to travel between 20th December and 5th of January, the issue is flight tickets are around 2300 CHF (2440 EUR) which is quite a lot, even tickets with ridiculous layovers are around 1600. I also checked to fly via other cities etc, but couldnt find any good deal. If I can't fly in December would need to wait for July again unfortunately.

Does anyboy have a recommendation, maybe promotion by Thai Airways or similar...

december is travel month for the west.  good luck getting cheap fares esp from zurich.  but look on kayak explorer, may get odd and shirt itineraries typically in early dec.  would bag it until Jan.

You're flying during the exact top of the high season, Fri to Sun. Demand at that time is through the roof, both for international travel into Thailand and regional in SE Asia. It's almost impossible to choose busier and more expensive dates. On top, you're excluding odd layovers.

If you're a bit more flexible, you'd get better fares. For example, you can do early December for 620 euro (Google Flights, Cathay Pacific).

I'd love to, but beg December no option, as our company closes end of December, so take 2 weeks off and return for 1 week is not an option as business is busy  then.

I hope I can go last 2 November weeks, but waiting for my Boss to decide whether we go to a fair in India or not.

So in the end, we are not going to India for business in November, which allowed me to book from mid November bit more than 2 weeks, direct flights with Thai for 38k Baht, which is a good price imo 🙂

If you are a bit flexible with dates... flights.google.com has a calendar and grid view. You can set alerts and see how they fluctuate daily...

Monitor some days... identify the trends of fluctuations and book. Sometimes it will go up and never down.
