Every time I do the research I always come back to the King Bed Deluxe @ Hyatt Regency as best room on the Suk. corridor.  Huge living area, massive couch and tv, large separate bathroom with huge soaking tub overloking amazing view, and separate toilet and massive separate shower room stalls.  And a separate changing area and wardrobe. Also a great hotel all around and cant beat the location.

Any inputs on some of your favorite rooms?

Some others of mine include:

Terrace Suite @ Doubletree Ploen Chit

King Bed Suite @ Doubletree Sukhumvit

King Bed Exec Suite @ Hilton Sukhumvit

Grand Suite @ Citrus Suites Sukhumvit 6

I've stayed at many places, and also think that Hyatt Regency corner room can't be beat for general Bkk visits. And connected to BTS is icing on the cake. Of course if price is your primary concern for accommodation, then you'd probably look elsewhere.

If you literally just want to focus on Nana for a few days, then the Landmark is super convenient for taking multiple trips per night in/out Nana. That's the only situation I'd stray from the Hyatt.

Similarly if you just want to focus on Soi Cowboy for a few days, stay at Grande Centrepoint T21 corner room.

There's options for smarter hotels in Sukhumvit, such as Park Hyatt - but they either aren't a prime mongering/walkable location or particularly girl-friendly.

I've thought about AirBnb at e.g Q1 building for mongering but the issue is I need bed sheets changed often, and I need room service.

Only reason I have avoided Landmark and GC T21 is theyre asian run brands thus attract asians who love to smoke in the rooms and in fact may have smoking rooms (many tripadvisor comments on that) and I have a very sensitive nose for that since it filters through the central ac.  Never so much as a whiff of that at Hyatt Regency which has a very strict policy on that.  of course, that goes out the window at that front entrance on Soi 13 but can typically use the Sukhumvit side entrance or the “secret” elevator up to the BTS catwalk.

am always looking for a new hotel but hard to beat Hyatt Regency at this point all things considered.  Albeit the king bed deluxe rooms have gone up from like 185 USD pre covid to the 240s.  the low end rooms are also pretty nice just too small for my taste.

Did a bit of research on this as I'm looking for erm.. 'a bigger room' for certain situations lol .
So, the "king room" is the one i think you're talking about, but you have to ask to have it on the corner, because they aren't all corner rooms. They cost 210 gbp/night, which isn't cheap (booking.com, june22-23)

That said, the "deluxe king suite" at 775 ft takes the cake imho, but oh boy oh boy my wallet my wallet, it's a whole 387 gbp/night, and by thai standard, that's a month rent.

But yeah looks dope even by western standards.

I'm hooked on the Conrad Bangkok.  (Caveat, I'm a Hilton Diamond member, so I get upgraded and I get Executive Lounge privileges).

They have a free shuttle to the BTS..or you can walk it...5-7 minutes.   However, ever since April 2023 I've had nothing but problems with my right foot. Short walks around the mall, walking from the lobby to the elevator to my room, walking from the elevator to the pool are no issues.  But I used to love walking up and down Sukhumvit and unfortunately, won't be able to for at least the next year.

Anyway, the Conrad Bangkok ticks all the boxes I need for a hotel...affordable, big rooms, powerful shower, guest friendly, free breakfast and outstanding/friendly/helpful staff.

@JVHyatt Would you rate the Regency favorably vs the Grand or Park Hyatt if nocturnal activities aren’t the priority? Normally I’d just head to Pattaya but am gonna have my first go round in Bangkok and take advantage of my corporate rate while playing tourist. By chance, the Regency seems to have high occupancy during my stay so even my price is up about 500 baht/night than normal but still a lot less than what a normal price would be. For context, my cost for the Regency’s King Deluxe amounts to the same as a room at the Park and staying at the Grand would actually save me some money.

Actually never stayed at either Grand or Park (but will be staying at Park Hyatt later this year on non mongering trip myself) but have visited both and researched both extensively.  Given your rate situation, and assuming mongering not in the cards, you cannot beat the Park Hyatt.  Rivals the one in NYC and may even be nicer,  Of course the regular rooms vary in size but the basic rooms there dont have the greatest views but ask for a higher floor room with the bathrooms having windows (some rooms there dont and thats a feature all the king deluxes at the hyatt regency have, even the smaller one in front facing the Sofitel — I prefer the larger ones in back overlooking the pool).

Park Hyatt also connects to the Central Embassy mall which isnt necessarily the best mall in BKK but it is a higher end one with a great food court and has that super high end cinema if that floats your boat.

For Grand Hyatt only redeeming feature really is that it’s a bit old school Thai design and right adjacent to the Erawan Shrine which is a cool shrine but easily walkable from the Park Hyatt. Also not far from Central World which for my money is the best mall in bkk taking into account ease of travel, amenities, restaurants, etc, albeit not the best food court (but great restaurants).

Having said all of this I still maintain the the Hyatt Regency is the best all things considered given ease of access to BTS and proximity to mongering corridor,  Only major downside is dont stay there with fam (whores out front all night) and they do tend to have large conventions which can back up the elevators (which are already slow) significantly.

Haven't been back to LOS in a while but when I return I'm gonna end my trip back at the Hyatt. Like it's location to activities all around, access to BTS, and plenty of other options.

Fuck!  Whores out front all night?  That sucks as I will be staying with family who doesn’t know what I go for lol.  Is there a car entrance on the side?  Won’t be doing much walking, mostly bolting, so hopefully there’s a side entrance for cars where they won’t see the working girls out front

I mentioned this in one of the other hotel threads, but I am also a big fan of MaDuZi , which is just off Asoke.

All the rooms are great and they have oversized beds, and Sok tubs in every room. Good for mongering or family visits, and it feels extremely private when you are there.

How is DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit ? I'm looking into it

Fine, just that they only have two elevators and theyre right next to the breakfast bar so it can get a bit backed up.  The Terrace Suite is a novelty bc of the huge terrace, but it wears off quickly and the AC in the room is awful, only has controls one one side and the living area gets freezing while the bedroom doesnt, had to turn off the ac periodically.  moreover, they fence off the raja alley egress to soi 4 at night and put a guard there.

for the price, there are much better alternatives.
