  1. Rudi - a Swiss guy - has a number of videos on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/user/Ruedskins/featured The english videos are mixed up between the german ones. I like the 5 words a day series. For starters read and write thai might also be a good one.
  2. Hi pembroke, I have not flown Kuwait Airways myself, but there are some pictured reports on this forum: http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/trip_reports/ Just search for KU, you don't need to be member to read the reports.
  3. Personally I have bought any suits in LOS yet - did not find the time - but inquired with a few fellow BMs. Usually everybody was happy with the quality of work, the only thing everybody remarked was that one should not bux in Bkk but in small towns outside e.g Huan Hin or Pattaya as there is a big price gap. I will try this one next time, he was recommend to my by an english guy that bought there for years: http://www.giorgiofashion.com/
  4. You will have Jetlag - no doubt - Bkk is 7 hours ahead. Bkk midnight is 5pm UK, the body usually needs about faultnight to fully adjust to this kind of change in your sleep cycle. Of course on holiday you stay up late up get up late aswell so you will not suffer as much as if you were working - e.g. getting up Bkk 7 a.m.is like getting up UK midnight. The Advantage for us europeans is that the hard jetlag happens when fly eastwards bound - so you will have jetlag when you arrive in LOS. Coming home you just will rise early (I usually wake up at 3 a.m. the first week) and will be going to bed very early. B)
  5. @Geep: Thank you that's great help. :D Have you used one those yourself? Do you speak Thai? Any tip, how to learn best? +2 Thank you B)
  6. Thank you for your tip joltme1313, unfornatly your link is not going any where. Are you refering to this site: http://learn-thai-podcast.com/ Thanks :)
  7. I come from Europe so I have 6-7 hours plus. Usually I noticed that it is best to immidiately live in the new timezone - I therefore try to land in the morning. When I go aboard in Europe I start behaving like I'm already on BKK time - so early supper - quick to sleep and raise early on BKK-Time - perfect. I found since I started flying Business, it is much easy to get a good sleep on the plane. If I can't sleep it will be a very long day and jetlag is immanent. In essence it only works if you are able to sleep on a plane.
  8. Hi Everybody, Last time I worked myself through the fifteen free lessons of survival phrases: http://survivalphrases.com/thai/guest.php - This is just an audio course telling the absolute basic phrases, like: Hi - Thank you - Sorry .... At the end of the day it does not help at all - anything you realley need to ask, you will use english or hand signs. Of course you are also not able to read even the most basic message. So I decided that for my ext trip I would try to pick up a bit of basic Thai. I would like to learn to read, write and speak at a advanced beginner level (A2/B1 EU-Comptence level). If seen some solutions on the web, but I'm not sure what is good. There are a few smaller Offers and a few big ones like rosetta stone (at a big price also). Has anyone experience with any of the offers and can give me some advice?
  9. Have gotten the answer from a different forum: The hotel is indeed GG and LB-friendly - like any other Sawasdee. :D
  10. Allow my to add the cautionary tale - consider everythink you buy to be counterfeit/fake. On your original question, bundy named the big places. If you wan't a night market, I would prefer the road stalls between BTS Nana and Asok - they are cheaper. If you looking for mobile covers and watches, go to china town.
  11. Just look at the webside - Joiner fee and looking like that? - I don't think it's gona be a hit. Bkk has way better hotels to offer - in any sense of better - cheaper, more luxirous, girlfriendly ...... No point to stay there, for nobody. :D
  12. My definition is very simple: No joiner fee, no hassle. Collecting IDs is OK, I prefer it even- It's for my own safety.
