  1. I concur. The Izakaya's in patpong are great value and pretty authentic to Izakaya's in Japan (I lived there before). It's not fancy Japanese food, but it's just good solid food to be washed down with an Asahi or shochu at the start of the night.
  2. To be honest you're better off applying for a new business visa in your home country. I don't think you'd be able to extend that type of visa in Thailand and anyway in Thailand they are usually a lot stricter than in your home country about Business visas. Once you get your business running you get a non-B visa initially for 90 days, then it gets extended for a year and then can be renewed every year as long as you meet the conditions. I presume you know that to get a work permit you'll need to have a company with a Thai 51 percent shareholder with two million THB registered capital? You also need four Thai staff and to show tax returns for them for three months when renewing your non-B visa. There's other options if you are married to a Thai or have Board of Investment recommendation for your company (don't need to keep the 4 thai to one foreigner ratio). Getting BOI recommendation for your company is pretty straight forward if your business is in any way technology, software or ecommerce related. You could run a brick and mortar store selling buggy whips and as long as you told them you were going to set up an ecommerce site and sell over the internet as well they'd probably approve you. So consider going down that path and start the BOI process in your home country, the Thai embassy in Canada would be able to help you get started on this. Amongst other advantages you get a tax holiday for five years with no company tax with BOI.
  3. One thing to be aware of, if they suspect you may be planning to get married in the UK during the visit they will refuse the visa (because there is a different visa for that circumstance). It's got much more difficult in recent years. Actually the Thai's I know who have applied for and got visitor visa's approved applied on their own and told them they were going on a holiday (which was true). On the other hand my friend who has 3 year thai girlfriend who has a good professional job has been rejected multiple times. So good luck but don't be too surprised if you get refused again. In some cases getting married is the only solution.
  4. Actually I think I'm mistaken it might have changed recently but the tolls from the airport are not much. 50% of a lady drink :)
  5. I've found apcalis as low as 200 THB for the box of four, SouthEast pharmacy just near Asok on Sukhimvit.
  6. Taxi scams from the airport are almost a thing of the past. They now have ticket machines at the queue which gives you the name and registration number of the taxi driver, and all taxis will use the meter (if you get them from the official queue). And yes there is legit a 50 THB surcharge for getting a taxi from the airport and yes you are responsible for paying the toll. The most direct way from Swampy to Asok there is no tolls, so if he says there is then he's taking you a long way around. (Most direct way is the non toll freeway, connect onto Petchburi then down Asok.) From the old Don Muang airport to Asok there is a tollway and it can be worth paying for during the day, will save you probably 20 or 30 minutes off the journey.
  7. you found it at a pharmacy in Bangkok? Which one? I've tried all the larger ones near asok and out along towards Ekkamai ?
  8. Sorry, this absolutely does not work. There is some things you can do to increase size for a short time, or you can get some surgery if you really want to, but non invasive, no pain? Nope, it's snake oil. Learn to work with what you have....
  9. It's a med, meant for something else, but it's off label use is that it makes it easier for you to finish and more often. It's sometimes given to people who take anti-depressants, which can sometimes cause "anorgasmia", eg you can get it up fine, but you just can't finish no longer how long you go for.. It does work for it's off label use on normal people as well, as in if you've already had 4 in a day it might help you finish again, however wouldn't recommend it if you've been on a drought... you're likely to pop before the zip is down ;)
  10. Have ordered from India before but would be nice to find a local source. Even South East doesn't have this. The meds I take make it hard to finish, which the girls do sometimes appreciate, and I don't really mind either way, its still good fun. However a change is sometimes nice....
  11. No I wouldn't because since I live / work here I would be far too tempted to go for "1 drink" and end up mongering every night. Not good for the wallet or my work performance. I live 4 BTS stops away from those areas.... just enough distance to not tempt me every day but still close enough when needed ;)
