I use Raja's Fashions on the even side of Suk next to Nana BTS station. I think the prices there are higher than almost every other tailor on Suk (THB 12K for a suit, which is higher than the advertised prices outside the shops), but apart from being satisfied from what they did for me (suit and shirts), I noted: a) Raja's always has a constant stream of customers (Americans, Aussies, Brits, Japs, HK) at all times, which is much more than I can say for almost every other tailor in Suk B) Many repeat customers - sons who got referred to Raja's by their dads, customers coming in to order 9 shorts or 4 suits c) Close attention to detail throughout the measurement and fitting process (Bobby took the measurements and both he and Raja did the fittings - had 3 fittings to get everything right) So it seems to me that they have a well deserved reputation for quality work, if that is what you are looking for.

Much easier if you had taken the BTS from Nana to Phyathai, then switched to the City LIne or Airport Express there.

If you do get a chance, try and catch one of the ladyboy comedy movie series in Thailand. On the one hand, you;ll get to see what ageing, ugly LBs look like, but on the other hand, seeing how the audience turn up for the show and laughs along with the gags gives me the impression that they are well integrated into society as whole, outside of the sex industry.

Agree - if you are on your own, take the Skytrain - the traffic jams in lower Sukhumvit, especially around Soi Arab (Soi 3) will keep you from getting anywhere in a hurry. On the way back, if you are with your lady, at least you could cuddle while sitting in traffic ...

I was unable to access the forum in the Bangkok hotel I was staying at over that period - at first I thought it might be firewall issue, which woudl be quite strange, but this upgrade incident seems to explain it. Does anyone still have problems accessing the forum from the Bangkok hotel you are staying at?

Have not compared the BKK or Pattaya rates, but for other cities, it seems that Agoda rates (after adding taxes) are still slightly lower than Booking.com, or other websites. The difference is that Booking.com is a reservation website, so you will not need to pay in advance, and pay directly to the hotel after the stay (you still have to provide a credit card number, so you'll still be charged for a no show), whereas Agoda takes payment in advance, so gives a bit more of a discount since it is cash in hand for them. Previously, the choice of hotels on Agoda was more limited compared to Booking.com, as the major chains were not always represented, but that seems to have changed recently.
